Connect Gmail
Within inBuild navigate to Account > Settings > Email Forwarding and click on the Sign in With Google button to begin the authorization process. This will connect your Gmail inbox seamlessly and securely. Once you have completed the process, you can close the tab stating you have Successfully Connected.
Connect Outlook
Within inBuild navigate to Account > Settings > Email Forwarding and click on the Sign in With Microsoft button to begin the authorization process. This will connect your Outlook inbox seamlessly and securely. Once you have completed the process, you can close the tab stating you have Successfully Connected.
Forward Your Email
With any new account, we can set up a custom email inbox to forward your messages to. If you don’t want to connect your email directly to our application, simply forward any relevant email automatically, following your email provider’s setup process. If you haven't yet received an address to forward your mail to, contact [email protected].
Setup Email Forwarding - Gmail
💡 You can only forward messages for a single Gmail address, and not an email group or alias.
On your computer, open Gmail using the account you want to forward messages from.
In the top right, click ⚙️ Settings > See all settings.
Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
In the "Forwarding" section, click Add a forwarding address.
Enter the email address you want to forward messages to.
Click Next > Proceed > OK.
A verification message will be sent to that address. Click the verification link in that message.
Go back to the settings page for the Gmail account you want to forward messages from, and refresh your browser.
Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
In the "Forwarding" section, select Forward a copy of incoming mail to.
Choose what you want to happen with the Gmail copy of your emails. We recommend Keep Gmail's copy in the Inbox.
At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.
Remove Email Forwarding - Gmail
To remove email forwarding rules from a Gmail account, go to your settings. This can be done by clicking the ⚙️ Settings > See All Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > 🔽 Click on Email Entry > Remove.
Populate the Inbox
This happens automatically when financial documents are sent to the email inbox of your choice. Any document type can be captured. They must be attached to the email, and if you are not seeing your documents appear, make sure they are not hidden behind a link. Specific document formats may need to be uploaded manually.

Documents can take up to five minutes to propagate within your inBuild inbox. We recommend waiting a moment or refreshing your application page. When the document enters your inbox, you can give it another minute to process and label the document correctly with our AI and OCR technology. If you’re still having trouble with this, please double-check the email the document was sent to, and confirm the message was successfully delivered. How Does inBuild Use My Gmail Information?
To integrate with Gmail, the user must authenticate their account through the Google OAuth 2.0 login flow. Thanks to this setup, inBuild does not need to store or transmit user account names or passwords but instead relies on granted application credentials. These credentials are used as part of an authorization step in which the user chooses to allow (or deny) our application access to their Google account data. Access granted to our application may be revoked at any point by the user. The result is a secure connection for Gmail users and peace of mind that your data is safe.
